Blackhawks Hire Jamie Kompon As Assistant Coach


The Chicago Blackhawks announced Tuesday morning that they have hired Jamie Kompon as their assistant coach, replacing Mike Haviland.
Kompon, 45, served as an assistant coach in Los Angeles for the past 6 seasons and helped the Kings capture their first Stanley Cup in franchise history in 2012.

Prior to that, he spent 9 years in St. Louis as a video coach and assistant coach, several seasons under current Blackhawks coaches Joel Quenneville and Mike Kitchen.

Kompon was mainly in charge the of Kings' power play in 2012 and is expected to help Chicago improve theirs.
