The Chicago Blackhawks announced on Sunday that they have signed defenseman Sheldon Brookbank to a two-year contract worth $2.5 million.
Brookbank, 31, is coming off a career year statistically scoring 3 goals and 11 assists in 80 games last season with Anaheim.
But the 31-year old defenseman is not known for his offensive production. He also recorded 120 hits, 110 blocked shots, and posted a career best +11 rating while skating a career high 15:36 per game.
Chicago ranked 27th in penalty kill last season and they hope Brookbank will help them improve that aspect.
